What people mix up
- Nova Scotia HST is 14%, not 15%. That change is already in these tools.
- Quebec QST is 9.975% on the selling price excluding GST (since 2013). Combined with 5% GST that is 14.975%, not a second tax on top of GST.
- Ontario, New Brunswick, Newfoundland and Labrador, Nova Scotia, and PEI charge HST. The others split GST and a provincial sales tax, or GST only.
